S.A.V.E.
A granting program of the Senior and Disabled Fund, the SAVE program fills the gap of available emergency aid for qualifying individuals. The SAVE Program aids seniors and adults with disabilities, within San Bernardino County, with one-time emergency assistance. Always the program of last resort, every effort is made to ensure that other services and programs are evaluated for assistance and exhausted before the SAVE Program will assist.
Individualized Eligibility Requirements: Individuals must be residents or intended residents of San Bernardino County, 60 years of age or older, or 18 or older and disabled and meet SSI income level requirements except in unusual circumstances.
Funding Eligibility Requirements: The following types of emergency situations (although the list is not exhaustive) may qualify for a one-time basis grant:
- immediate need for food
- immediate need for utilities
- immediate need for clothing
- Eyeglasses, and other accessibility tools
- emergency repairs and equipment that ensure the safety, security and well being of the individual.
